Austria (Austria-Hungary) ruled over many places and ethnic groups up until just after WW I (1918). So while their Citizenship at the time they were born many have been Austrian they were likely ethnically Polish. In the late 1700s the great Polish Empire was divided into 3 parts with the west going to Prussia, the east to Russia and the south to Austria.... this Austrian part was known as the crownland of Galicy. Any records for these 2 will be found in Poland or what is now the western part of Ukraine, not present day Austria....
