I am looking for information on my grangfather and my family history and family crest. I know he was nobility i'm not sure what his title was he didn't talk much of it.
I'm not even sure if the spelling of the surname is still correct.

Family crests were unique to families within certain areas of the country throughout Europe, unlike those of the British Empire. You'll need to find more information about him and where he came from before you might find something.

the name is in any case german and as you posted on austrian board, maybe ask at "Adler Wien"(Eagle Vienna)if they have "von Steueregger" in their files for nobility-family-crests.
