My name is Mary Ellen (Schmidt) Gangl. My Grandmother Barbara Gangl was born in Illmitz and immigrated to St. Paul MN in 1902 . My family will be going to Illmitz in September. We're wondering if we have an distant relatives still living in Illmitz.
My Great Great Grandfather was Johann Gangl who married Teresa Haider. Their son Stefan Gangl married Anna Unger and they were my Great Grandparents. They had my Grandmother Barbara Gangl who married Stephen Schmidt. They had a farm in Roseville MN a suburb of St. Paul.
My husbands Great Grandfather Frank Gangl who also came from Illmitz married Theresa Unger. Their son Frank married Catherine Weyandt and lived in St. Paul. Their son Edward is my husbands Dad and he married Margaret Kunzer and lived in St.Paul, MN. My husband is Thomas E. Gangl.
