Surnames: Teshoney
I have a family member that I have:
John Teshoney from Garany Austria
and want to trace further. He is supposedly from this area, looking to find out more. Also believe that there are still family members over seas maybe in Poland? but not sure, can anyone give me an idea of what to do with this info?

Are you sure, it was the ORIGINAL spelling of this name?

No. I am not sure of anything which is making this even more difficult. It may also be Tassoni or Tasonyi etc, etc. The more I look the more the possibilities! :)From 1 family of siblings there are multiple different spellings, so I'm not sure which (if any) are the true original from when the came to the us. I would love any help or suggestion that you may have!

if it would be the italian name Tassoni the firstname John would be Giovanni, but don´t think it was this variant as Hungary was his home.

just have also seen that Maria and 1.Andras in the list came to Peckville for first. but Maria and the 2.Andras came from Zadrasnjlak (correct spelling?)
so think all 4 of list were related....

By the ship manifest the spelling is Tosonyi.
Mihály Tosonyi went to András Tosonyi, probable to hes brother.
Garany is in the present Slovakia, town in the former Hungarian county Zemplén and got new name Hran:
