What I know about Baldomero Döhnert is this: He wrote in a bible, that still has a family member, that he arrived to the island of Saint Croix in a year that is practically innelegible but is read as around 1700 plus. He did not mencioned from where. Then he wrote that he married Maria Isabel Bretfeldt in that island. By other means we know that they had a child named Gaspar Emilio Döhnert Bretfeldt who born on June 9, 1818 in that island. Eventualy they established in Puerto Rico in the town of Naguabo. The rest of my family come from there.
A fact is that he wrote is name as Döhnert, that is, with two points over the letter ö.
I am searching my roots. I have to go to the church of Naguabo to see what i found. I will let you know.
Cordially,
Luis G. Döhnert
