I do not know if thsi answers your question but inmy research on the Jews of Sto. Domingo I came across the firm of Rothschild and Coen which opreated from 1830 to 1857. Sigismund Rothschild was a leading merchant in Sto. Domingo but he was based in St. Thomas while Abraham Coen was the Dominican partner. They both had busines dealings with Robles - I believe that Rothschild who was a Danish citizen and to my knowledge was not of THE Rothschilds may have been a brother in law of Robles - both had married into the Victoria family and both were buried in the jewish cemetary.
