Good day, and happy holidays. Thank you for your response. One of my grandfathers is from the Turks and Caicos islands, South Caicos to be specific. His name is Herbert Mills(1934), and his fathers name was Herbert Mills as well. Their Mills lineage is supposdly traced to a William Mills of England/UK of which Im trying to prove. This may be possible via of Bermuda or another way(?)
One the flip side my other grandfather is Alphonso Archer(1898)of Inagua Bahamas. The Archer's in the Bahamas are traced to the island of Abaco. I have not as yet, to date been able to trace my Archer lineage to any of them. I have seen info. showing the pop. of Inagua in 1803 of one having one inhabitant, in 1848 172 inhabitants, and in 1871 rose to 1000 due to the harvesting of salt there.
Most of the ships transiting between Europe,South America, Caribean, and Usa during this time(mid1800s-1920s) stopped at Inagua. This coupled with the fact that most of the initial settlers to Inagua were from the Turks and Caicos islands via Bermuda. Leads me to investigate if there are/were any possible connections to Bermuda.
I will check the link u mentioned below, thanking in advance again. Awaiting your response
