Malcolm, I think I may have come across your John Clark in the 1835 Trinidad Almanac and Parish Register. He had apparently died by this time. Of course, I may be wrong and this may not be the John Clark who figured in the story but it would be great if it were. Do you have access to all the Almanacs and Yearbooks for T&T? Or was this where you discovered him?
