This is a response I received today, when inquiring as to whether I could help digitize records:

Dear Researcher,

Thank you for contacting the National Archives of Trinidad and Tobago. We do apologize for not responding to your query in a timely manner. However, we do not have birth and death records in our holding. The Registrar’s Office, Ministry of Legal Affair are the legal holders of these records. What we do have on ancestry are some of our slave records, mainly from Tobago and very soon we will have our east Indian indentureship records on ancestry.
We thank you for your offer and feel free to contact us at any time.
Regards,

How exciting that Ancestry will finally get some Trinidian (and Tobagonian) records!!
