I am looking for information about the Smith and John families of St Vincent. I realise that these are very common surnames, but I am hoping that someone can help me fill in a few blanks in my family research. My great grandmother migrated from St Vincent to Trinidad as a child. Her name was Amelia Smith. She had a half-sister by the name of Winifred John who was also from SV who had also migrated to Trinidad. According to legend, they never met. Now that I am posting this, it occurs to me that they had the same father and that would be a gentleman with a name pronounced as Lack-eye. Does any of this rings any bells? If it does, please let me know and thanks.
