Hello from Judy in Bermuda.
The only positive info I have with regards to the ADAMS surname is that my Great-Grandmother was OPHELIA HAMILTON ADAMS who married ETHELBERT RICHARD SPENCER.
They lived, had children and died in Grand Turk.
Recently I heard a taped conversation with an older cousin who has since passed - ISABEL OPHELIA FRITH born in Grand Turk and married an ASHFORD.
Aunt Isabel was also grandchild of Ethelbert & Ophelia SPENCER.
While listening to this tape, she said she remembered while:
"sitting under the parish light (the moon) listening to the oelders 'bogweed' (gossip)". She heard about her Grandmother's sisters ELLEN or HELEN and MARGARET (aka Marni)who would have both had the surname ADAMS.
This is all I have to go on.
Have you ever come across an ADAMS family with three girls by the names of OPHELIA/HELEN OR ELLEN and MARGARTE/Marni?
Hope to hear from you again.
I also hope to visit Grand Turk one
of these days and possi ly become a 'belonger'.
cheers,
Judy in Bermuda.
PS: I'm looking for ADAMS born abt. 1826 what era are you looking for?
