Hi everyone,

All WAlters from Nevis/St. Kitts are related. My grandmother is one. A few family members are working on trying to put together a tree of some sort. this family is very large, especially with there being upwards of 18 children with different mothers from some of the fathers. We are also planning to do a reunion in two years.

All Walters from Nevis/ St. Kitts are related. My grandmother is a Walters and her father was raised in St. Kitts, but is originally from Nevis. We are working on a family tree and trying to connect people. It's a VERY LARGE family.

My father's name is Wilbert Howe. He used to live in Newton Ground. His father lives in both St. Kitts and England. He is a Howe as well. I've met several of my cousins that live in Newton Ground that carry the last name Francis. I think that I'm also related to McIntosh.

Hi, I'm trying to fill out a family tree and research my genealogy. My mother is Ingrid Walters, her father is Samuel Walters (died in 2011 at the age of 94), her mother is Iona Walters (maiden name Sturge".

Iona's father's name is Manester Sturge and his wife's maiden name is Powell(Iona's mother).

My grandfather (Samuel Walters) didn't speak much of his family. He was born in Nevis and moved to Saint Kitts. His father died when he was a boy and his mother lived to see her 90s I have been told.

My grandmother (Iona Walters) is still alive and has told me that her mother's maiden name was Powell. She was born in Nevis, but moved to St. Kitts. Her other siblings live in Nevis, except for 2 sisters that live in England and a brother (Franklin) that lives in St. Croix.

Please contact me I have found daughters of Blind Walters my Nan's sister who is completely blind is still alive in a home in the USA also my nan's sister maisie and a brother in Trinidad who went onto have a few children ! There are a lot of Blin d Walters Grandchildren and Great Grand children here in England

Looking for information on Ophelia Hendrickson and her family. She died in Newcastle, Nevis in 1880.

She had a nephew named William J. Hendrickson who was born in Nevis. He immigrated to Trinidad and died in Port of Spain around 1893.

I am trying to find more information on my family. My Grandfathers name is Edwin D Reape and his fathers name is Cyril Reape. Recently I have found more information on which is Clarice Isabelle Reape she was married to Henry DeCosta. She was from Nevis and he was from St Kitts. They had three kids Dorothy, Henry, and Eric Benjamin aka Benny. Only two of the children Henry and Benny stayed in America. Dorothy went to live in Nevis even though she was born in the US. I am trying to find Clarice's children's family but also the parents of Cyril and Clarice.

Hi i am a Powell. If it is the same Ina Powell she was the sister of my father Albert Edward Powell, deceased who was from Brown Hill. Her proper first name was Madora. She was born in Brown Hill on 21st January 1911 and died 25 November 1994 in Christiansted, St. Croix.

Hi, My grandmother Florence Evelyn Browne was the sister of Miriam Browne (if it is the same Miriam Browne you are talking about). Miriam Browne (who was known as Aunt Barb)married Moses Springette and they had three children: James, Walter (who is in St. Thomas, USVI and Maizie. So Miriam Browne I believe is my great aunt.

Brownsville was the original name for Brown Hill, Nevis

Hi I was born a Powell (but my surname is Collins) and I am related to the Marshalls and da Costa families. These two families are related to each other. What I have on my files are Mary and Chick Marshall aunts and uncles to Evelyn Marshall. I have other data but I have to sort it out. My father was Albert Edward Powell from Brown Hill.

I've been doing some research on this family and struck blank when I reached this point. I have spoken to people who claim that Barbara Fitzroy lived/spent time in St. Kitts around the late 1800's late 1900's. And that she may have had Beryl and Emma Johnson as visitors.

Can anyone perhaps confirm this or know where she lived? Have you come across any archival inforamation, old newspapers, books, or personally known facts about this connection.

I'd say there's a fair possibility that we are related somewhere along the line. I'd have to speak to my Dad to see if he recognises the names you have mentioned as apparently the Peets are a big clan on the islands of St Kitts & Nevis!

My Paternal Grandmother who is a Walters had 3 sister's and 1 half brother who was a Liburd and another brother who is a Walters moved to Trinidad!
Does the names maisie ,Louvinia Leroy, Malcolm, ring a bell anyone mentioned my great grandfather famous calypso singer who had lots of children.

Do you know if your great grandmother Mary Challenger had any siblings? I was told that my great-great grandfather John Henry Thomas Challenger had a sister named Mary A. Challenger. He was a widow when he married my great-great grandmother Susannah, and my aunt told me that he had three children with his first wife (whose name is unknown.) The children were named Mary, Barbara and Pine Challenger.

Do you know the names of any of the parents of your Mary Challenger and Samuel Barnes? I can't seem to find anything on either the Barnes or Challenger families in St. Kitts, except for Edgar Oscar Challenger, whom I'm assuming we're probably related to in some way or another.

My great grandmother, was called Mary challenger from St.Kitts and Nevis. She was married to Samuel Barnes and one of her sons, was called Jacob Barnes. Jacob Barnes was my grandfather. I do believe the names are repeated through generations.

Hello!

I'm looking for my great-great grandmother Susannah Jane Barnes' family. She was from Saddlers in St. John Capesterre and was born about 1851. Her husband was a man named John Henry Thomas Challenger. She moved to St. Croix with her children in the early 1900s and stayed there for the remainder of her life. She had a relative (probably a brother) named Samuel A. Barnes (based on one of the witnesses on her marriage certificate to John Henry.

Does anyone have any relation to the Barnes'?

My great grandmother was a Challenger. She was born in St. Kitts, but moved to St. Croix as a child with her mother. Her father was John Henry Thomas Challenger (probably born about 1851) - his marriage certificate says that he was living in Little Estridge at the time of marriage. His wife was Susannah Jane Barnes. I know he was a widow when he married her, but I don't know who his first wife was. There is no evidence that John left St. Kitts with Susannah, so he might have died on the island. A Kittitian friend of mine said that most of the Challengers were originally from Nevis. Not sure how true that is. Does anyone know the history of the family? Were they originally from St. Kitts or from elsewhere?

My Great Grandmother was Rose Liburd My Great Grandfather was Charles"Blind Walters a famous calypso folk musician from Nevis.
My Grandmother has 3 sister's and one brother who went to Trinidad.

My Granddad is Lesley Manning from Nevis who was a teacher but was a fisherman in his early years. There are still people who remember my GreatGrandfather Charles "Blind" Walters from the wedding's that he sang at!

ADLAM, Margaret/STEPHEN, Sidney

Good Evening, I am trying to find information on an ancestor, Margaret ADLAM, born about 1800, I have no idea as to where. Her father, Alexander ADLAM, was a merchant on St Kitts. Margaret married Sidney (Sydney) STEPHEN about 1819, her death certificate says Bermuda. Sidney was born in 1795, Tortola. Sidney's younger brother, Alfred, was born 1802 Basseterre, as was some of his other siblings. Margaret and Sidney's older children were born on St Kitts. During the 1820's Margaret and Sidney settled in Australia, along with their children as well as Sidney's parents, John (a Judge) and Mary Anne (nee Pasmore)and some of Sidney's siblings. Sidney took a posting in New Zealand, as a Judge, he dying there in 1861. Margaret returned to Australia, where her children were and she died in 1875, in Melbourne, I am havinf such an awful amount of trouble and have done for years, trying to find information on Margaret ADLAM and her father Alexander. I only have their names. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Many, many thanks in advance.

Grandfather's

My grandfather William Arthur Challenger married my grandmother, Live Challenger (born in Haiti). They had several children amongst (three boys and two girls - most born in Haiti).

My dad's name is William W. Challenger, the youngest, born in 1942 the Dominican Republic, as they ended up residing there.

As I understand it, I have family in St. Croix and St. Kitts. I do not know them very well but I have an aunt (father's sister) who keeps in touch with them.

Not much more I know.

I am seeking informatoin on the whereabouts of the son of Dr. Jim (James) and Candy Frasier (James Jr., I believe). Jim and Candy lived in St. Kitts in the 1970's but perished with Geoffrey Boon in a plane crash in 1978 over Easter weekend upon take-off from Nevis Airport. I lived in St. Kitts at the time; my parents were close to the Frasiers. My father is writing a book about his time spent while we lived in the Caribbean, including fond memories of times with the Frasiers that I'd like to pass on to their son. I am not sure if he lives in America or the UK as I understand Jim and Candy were residents of these two countries, respectfully. My intentions are not to stir up any bad memories, but simply to share fond ones with their child if he is open to receiving them.

I know this has been since 2005 but my grandfather his name was St. Rose Challenger who lived in St kitts had a brother named St. John but it was not clear to the family where St.John migrated to.

Maybe our great grandmother's were siblings. My great grandmother's name was Ada. I too have been looking for her parents and can not seem to find much information. I do not know much at all about her. Jenny Roper- Murray's dad may have information about her though. He did not know of my greatgrandmother's parents. If you have any information about her, though, the name of her husband or my great grandfather, that would be great. Thanks.
