Hi
I am trying to trace what ship my ancestor was attached to when he drowned in Jan 1855.
From a newspaper article in Greenock, Scotland I have gleaned that he drowned off the coast of Puerto Rico. The article states:
Intelligence has reached town of the melancholy death of Capt. Gowans of St John's Newfoundland, by the upsetting of a boat at Porto Rico, The deceased was well known in Greenock, having been for many years in the employment of Messrs Kerrs & McBride.
I was wondering if there are any resources for shipping arriving at Puerto Rico
Thanks
Gillian
