Any leads to historical or plantation records about Drax Hall Plantation in St. Ann, Jamaica between 1860 and 1910 would be greatly appreciated. Both my great-great grandmother Elizabeth Leavers and great grandmother Sarah Campbell worked at Drax Hall Plantation. Sarah Campbell married Adolphus Steer, coachman at Drax Hall.
It seems that William Beckford, Lord Mayor of London, was the absentee owner from 1762-1821. However, it would be helpful to know more about subsequent owners, such as John Pink and whether or not another owner, Henry Sewell, was of mixed race.
