Thanks for your response however the Crooks Family Tree information indicated by Paul Crooks is not completely accurate and points to only one side of the Crooks Ancestry. I am in touch with a few of the Streete family members from Hanover who now reside in the US, specifically CT and MD, however they do not know enough of the family's ancestry in order to connect all the dots. I am aware there is only one family of Chisholms to which I am related but again trying to unite all the Chisholms is a task as the younger generations do not have enough information to correctly link the extended families. I still have family members residing in Lances Bay who are bloodline Chisholms, Greys, Campbells and Crooks.

Thank you so much... I already have all of the info on the Graver's that came to the United States. You found my Great Uncle Michael, his wife Catherine and their children. I have found tons of info in past year. I found my Graver's in Jamaica. I found out through Michael's Grand daughter that they moved to Panama around 1904 or so to work on the Panama Canal. Some stayed in Panama, some died in Panama, a few came to the US and one that I know of went back to Jamaica. Finding info in Jamamica and Panama has been difficult. Thanks again... I greatly appreciate your efforts.

Donna
donnabrodie@comcast.net

See www.lucea-online.com, there is a 1823 Hanover census listed, there is also a Crooks Family Tree under Roots Link page.

Streete's can be found in the Maryland area, there is only one family of Chisholm in Lucea to my knowledge, I have no immediate contact to put you on the Campbell's and Grey in Lances Bay.
I am trying to find my grandfather`s family, the last name is Dehaney. George Dehaney was born in Hanover, Jamaica and as a young man he went to Port Antonio, Portland, where he met and married my grandmother, Mary Kelly they had 10 children they raised all their children. All those years he lived and died in Port Antonio Portland I heard that he had relatives there and there last name was Gayle, Minnie and Percival Gayle.
Jemima Steer had a illegitimate son named Henry Albert Dewar around 1923 (my grandfather). She had a son named Herman with her husband Clarence Blake and remarried at some point to a man with the last name Dixon. Sefton Stair (used new spelling of last name when he moved) immigrated to New York in 1944 as an agricultural laborer. Hazel Steer had two sons, Horace Temple (dob Feb 12, 1926) and Frank Egbert (dob Aug. 19, 1930).

If you have any information on Jemima, Stanley, Hazel or any of the Steer/Stair children it would be greatly appreciated.

The following has been a long time "missing link" in my genealogy search.

My grandmother Gladys Henry’s parents were: Rachel Samuels and Alexander Henry
Gladys' grandparents were: Carolina and Jacob Samuels
Gladys'brothers/sisters were: Frank Jonas, Vandis Henry, Alexander Henry (wife = Pearlina and their 4 children: Emerson ("Diggy"), Howard, Milverton, Maureen)

I understand that Glady’s parents and grandparents lived near (or on the way to) Askenish, Hanover? Glady and her brother/sisters lived in Lucea.

I've seen other postings about the Samuels family in Hanover, but I am not sure of any connections? This line of Samuels is somehow related to the Clare family in Lucea.
In the early 1900s, my great-grandparents Sarah Campbell and Adolphus Steer moved from St Ann to Lucea to work at Haughton Court, a large sugar estate. Haughton Court was once owned by Simon Taylor who was described as "one of Jamaica's most wealthy creoles, with a fortune based on work as attorney for absentee proprietors." However, Sarah and Adolphus worked for the Watson-Taylor family at Haughton Court.

Upon moving to Lucea, the spelling of their surname changed from Steer to Stair. They had 10 children:

•	Beatrice - married Freddie McBean, lived in Steertown and Bellevue, St Ann, had 10 children
•	Stanley – had 15 children
•	Selvin - died at age 7-8 yrs old
•	Egbert - had 8 children (lived in Discovery Bay and Cuba)
•	Hazel - married Willie Temple
•	Jemina - married Mr. Clarence Harmon Blake (from Kew), had 1 child
•	Vernon - married Dora Josephine; had 7 children
•	Eliza - married Mr. Crooks; had 1 child
•	Iris - married Vincent Grace, had 2 children:
•	Sefton - had 5 children (lived in NYC and England)
•	Sylvester – married twice (Iris and Beverly), lived in Montego Bay

Any connections to Stair, Steer, McBean, Blake, Crooks, and/or Grace surnames would be appreciated!
