I just came across this and feel you must have the info you were looking for. My Senior family left Spain in the late 1400s, going to Portugal, then Holland, then Curacao and we ended up in Trinidad. I have traced my Senior side back to the late 1400s. Can I help?

Hi Wendy,
I would like to know, which of the Senior left for Trinidad or what is your connection to the Curazao Senior? Was this a jewish family?

Hi I am Wendy's brother
The Senior family which came to Trinidad was that of a other, my great-great grandmother, Rachael Senior, neeMendez daCosta, her 2 sons Arturo Senior and Jacob I. Senior, both dentists, with their wives Elvira nee Parilli and Clara nee Jessurun, and their children, some Curacao born others Venezuela born and still others Trinidad born. At the begining Arturo's family was christian, whereas Jacob's was jewish. I descend from Jacob's, but am a christian. We all have sephardic jewish roots however.

Hi Ian,
would that be Rachel Mendes da Costa (an only child), born in Curacao 12-01-1835 to Obadiah Mendes da Costa of London and Eliza of Jacob Brandon (also from London) but married in New York in 1833.
Rachel married 17-09-1851 in Curacao to the physician Isaac de Jacob Senior. The couple had 7 children in Curacao. Among them Jacob, born 04-06-1854 and married to Clara de Abraham Jesurun on 03-07-1882 in Curaçao. Brother Arthur was born 25-12-1867 and I have no Curaçao marriage for him. Do you know where the brother's received their dentist's training? The were all jewish.
