Hi Anita?, it always helps to give the reference to the census or source of your information, so as others can check the information you have.
You say he was born 1835? the 1851 states he was born 1822 (28 not 18) in the West Indies, poor handwriting in the 1871 suggests he was 40 but I think it more likely he was 49, which again gives 1822 (but East Indies as birth place). If you give the references to the information you have, we can cross chack it for you.
Are you sure of the 1853 marriage? that would mean Emma was 14 or 15 when she married, not impossible but perhaps theres another?
