Classification: Query
Surnames: Chappotin, FarFan, Reina, Lino, Cortes
Here is what I know now and if anyone has any information or can help please let me know:
Diego Manuel Lino Chappotin born in Yaguajay, Cuba married Mercedes FarFan Reina born in Santa Clara, Cuba.
Mercedes' mother's name was Ana and Diego's mother's name was Eduvigis., according to birth certificate for Diego and Mercedes' only son, written in Diego's handwriting.
Mercedes and Diego had 2 children (in 1930 and 1931), still living in the United States after immigrating in the 1960's with their families.
Diego worked as a dj on a local radio station in La Habana, where the family resided. He was fairly well known and respected in the city.
Mercedes Reina had a brother named Cecilio Cortes. I am told that Cecilio was a wealthy man who lived in Camaguey, Cuba and that he had a son named Ponciano Cortes. Cecilio is said to have committed suicide (1943-1947?) but I was given no details. He is held with very high regard in my family but once again, no offered details. Mercedes died between 1947-1950. No one is able to say what happened to Diego.
Of course I have further information that might be helpful to someone who can link up with me but it is regarding the living so I cannot document it here. Please, if anyone can help me with this project I would be very greatful. gracias tanto:
