We are trying to trace my Great-Grandfather John Roper who travelled to Cuba in 1920/1930's to work from Nevis,West Indies.
We know he stayed in Cuba and although unsure of the work he was doing we do know that he worked in the mountains with some periods of work lasting 6 months.
