Don't know if you have already found information. Also don't know what specifics you are looking for. There are several published biographies about him and his descendents can be found in the US, especially the Miami area. There are other branches of the Nunez family who were in the Las Villas province. If you give specifics, I might be able to give some info.

My paternal grandmother was Luciana Maria Dolores Llerena Nuñez she was born in January 7 , 1895 in La Esperanza, Las Villas, Cuba.
Her parents were: Donato Rafael Llerena Perez (from Casiguas, Havana, b. in February 16, 1854) and Maria Ceferina Nuñez Rojo (b. August 26, 1874 in La Esperanza, L.V. Cuba)
Her Maternal grandparents were: Saturnino Nuñez (from Pipian, Havana), and Rita Rojo (from Guamuta, Havana).

Great-grandparents: (paternal)Jose Nicomedes Nuñez and Guillermina Ruiz; (maternal) Juan Rojo and Loreta (no last name given)

Do you have any information about these families? I know more about the Llerena, but I have nothing more about the Nuñez and Rojo families who went to La Esperanza.
I will appreciate any information,
Thank you,

Emilio Nunez Rodriguez's parents were Bernardo Nunez Labrador (de Caraballo, Aguacate) and Eulalia (Olallita) Rodriguez Ortero (de Alarcanes). He was born in "el ingenio San Francisco" a family property in Las Villas on December 25, 1855. He was baptised "en la Parroquial Nuestra Senora de la Esperanza. The family has another property La Ollita which was near Rodrigo (in turn close to Santo Domingo, all in Las Villas). He had various brothers and sisters including Jose Manuel Nunez Rodrigues (a doctor), Fermina and I believe Angelina (not sure of the name). There were also Nunez cousins in the Rodrigo area. Narciso Nunez was a first cousin and had some property near Rodrigo which was inherited by his son Manuel Felipe (Pimpo) Nunez Amechazurra. There were other children from that cousin including Juan Manuel. There are more cousins but I do not have all the details. I don't particularly know the names that you mentioned but I wonder if La Esperanza ties in with the Parroquia de Nuestra Senora de la Esperanza. Hope some of this helps. Let me know if I can answer anything else.
