I am planning to go to Cuba this year and would like any advice regarding obtaining birth records, death records, marriage records, immigration records, etc. of my ancestors. The majority lived in Santiago de Cuba and Holguin. Few were Cuban born.

My paternal Gmother's name was Juana Romero Vega. She Married my Granfather Mariano Lora Torres and had my father, Silvano, Mariano, Armando, America, Sara & Cora Lora Romero.
Juana's Parents were Pedro Romero & Isabel Vega.
They were all originally from Oriente Province and Mariano Lora Torres and his brother Saturnino gave "El Grito de Baire" in 02-24-1895. I hope we are related to share information on our ancestors

hi,
I am researching my cuban ancestors. My mother told me that Saturnino Lora is a part of our family. My grandmother is Nora Costelo. She left cuba in the 1950s. Her parents were Francisco Costelo and Isabel Moya. I believe Isabel's parents were Juan Moya and Isabel Lora. I was wondering if Saturnino was possibly Isabel's brother? If you have any info that can help me go further back please email me back at cassie83@temple.edu Thanks!

Dear Cassandra,
My father, Silvano Lora Romero, used to call all his relatives "primos". I will tell you what I know of Moya last name. Carlos Perera married Ana Moya and had Ana Maria and Tony Perera Moya. Ana Maria Lived in Washington DC and Tony married and lived in Las Vegas. I have lost track of both of them. Saturnino has six brothers and two sisters:
Constantino, Antonio, Saturnino, Mariano (my GF), Alfredo, Jose(Pepe), Isabel and Ana Lora Torres. According to Ana Maria Perera they are decendants from Constantino

Good day. I am reasearching my Sylva lineage, and came across your post. My great-grand mother, and great-great grandmother were Sylva's living in Inagua Bahamas, during the mid to late 1800's. They were known to frequent Cuba(Nuevitas), during this time. I am trying to find connections, and if possible orgins. Thaking in advance, awaiting your response.
