The town of Mir, Oriente, Cuba
Dear Michael
Our great grandfather, Louis Mir, gave the land so the railroad could have a place for a depot and station under one condition that the station be called Mir. From that the town developed as we know the town of Mir which I heard is quite large now. I have much more information which I would love to share with you pertaining to our great grandfather who came from Gerona, Spain. He married a French woman of noble birth and they moved to Holguin, Oriente, Cuba. circa 1848 Please feel free to write to me. mirfamily1@msn.com
