I am starting my search into my Cuban and Spanish roots.
The Farinas come from Galicia, Spain, the Pinos, I am not sure of their origin. Some say Italy. Any information you may have would be appreciated.

I have been researching my Family roots and have trace them to the Canary Islands. Then they migrated to Louisiana. The Canary Islands were taaken over by the Spainards in the late 1700 and early 1800. I am a Pino and that is where we arefrom so far until I can trace further back. I have listed the names of the women the Pino men married in my family over the years. If you have any info please send it to me. And if I can be of help to you let me know. Thanks C. Pino

Have you seen the book entitled "The Lejeunes of Acadia and the Youngs of Louisiana" by John A. Young? It might be helpful. If you have not seen the book you may be able to get a copy through some sort of inter-library loan, or you might order a copy from Mr. Young himself, at PO Box 178, Basile, LA 70515.

My name is Danny Pino and I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, La. It was always said in father's family that the Pino's came from the Canary Islands. My research has been limited to the Internet, and so far I have been unable to make any concrete connection. Perhaps we can help each other.

Dany: your family probably could have come from the Canaries, but the roots and family "solar" of Pino is in Rioja. Pinos is from Aragon
