Yes, in fact, I just had the pleasure of meeting your grandfather, Gustavo Batista-Ortiz, and his wife, Sylvia Santiago in Puerto Rico in December 2011. Gustavo's grandfather, Elpidio Batista Loret de Mola and my grandmother, Esther Batista Loret de Mola were brother and sister. They were born in Camaguey, Cuba and immigrated to
Puerto Rico in 1905. Gustavo is a wonderful man who has communicated with me for many years already about our mutual family history. Gustavo and I are cousins and you and I are too. My mother was the daughter of Esther. My mother's name was Maria Esther Morazzani Batista. She married an American stationed in Puerto Rico during World War II. His name was Joseph Schmidt. My mother moved to New York City after she married my father. Gustavo knows so much about the family history we share. Speak to him about it. He has a lot of very important documents about it.
