My gt.grandmother was Frances Pasea Cox Robertson b.6 Mar.1832 Tortola, m. Hugh McWilliam 27 Jul. 1857 Tortola, d.1869 St.Croix, bp. St Paul's Churchyard Frederiksted. Her father Hugh Robertson d.1835 Tortola, he was believed to be son of William Robertson and Frances Pasea Robertson nee' Cox. William Robertson believed to be son of The Hon James Robertson of Tortola. Hugh Robertson's wife was Anne Elizabeth nee' Richardson of St. Croix she d.in 1838 in Tortola. As well as my gt,g.Frances, Hugh and Anne had a son William but I have no details of him. The names Robertson, Cox and Pasea are all surnames connected with Tortola in the mid to late 1700's and early 1800's. Properties associated with these people were:- The Cox Heath Estate, Bantry Bay, Pasea Hall and Flamingo Pond. A sister of Hugh Robertson Fanny Helen Robertson married a Dr. Samuel Doty. After the untimely early deaths of their parents Frances and her brother William were fostered by their mother Anne's sister Lucy Isaacs whose husband was William Rogers Isaacs another planter and at one time c.a. 1831 President of the Tortola Assembly. France's father Hugh Robertson was also an elected member of the Assembly in 1828.
I would be most grateful for any information relating to any of these people or properties metioned.
