Surnames: Paris, Cooke
I found a WWI draft card for Percy Hellings Cooke who I believe to be Dora Cooke's brother living in Union in 1917 so I would lean towards the Union family because I have a marriage date of 1902 for Dora and James wedding so their son William would not have been 17 in 1906 he would have only been 4. I have looked at the 1920 census for the Cooke family in NJ and believe this to be the right family, the names of the other children in the household match Dora's siblings. According to some of the census records it looks like Percy Hellings Cooke Sn. and wife Sarah with several of their children emigrated from Bermuda to Cranford, Union, NJ in 1908. I am not sure why William Paris would have been living with them in 1910 but that was 4 years after his father's death so maybe Dora could not support them all.
I have a different mother for Dora than you. My research seems to indicate that Dora Cooke was the daughter of Percy Hellings Cooke and Sarah Truman. It looks like she would have been born in India as her parents married there 3 Oct 1881 and I have found several births of siblings but unfortunately not of Dora there. Percy was a sapper in the Royal Engineers and came to Bermuda around 1889-1890. You may be able to find more about his service from the British National Archives. It looks like Percy Sn. died in NJ between 1910-1920 as he is in the 1910 census but not the 1920. His wife in 1910 is listed as Minnie. This is probably a nickname for Sarah but it is possible that he had remarried by then. I have found Minnie in the census up till at least 1930. I have not managed to find a death date for either Percy Sn. or Sarah/Minnie. It looks like most of the children came to NJ with the family. I do not know what happened to William's siblings. I have that James and Dora had 2 other children Eldon Eugene Parris born 17 Sept 1904 Baptism 20 Nov 1904 in Devonshire, Bermuda and Florence Estelle McRonald Parris born 8 Sept 1907 baptism 18 Oct 1907 Pembroke, Bermuda. I have not seen any deaths for them. I found an article in the Royal Gazette in 1913 that mentions Eldon getting in trouble so Dora and the other children may not have left Bermuda. I hope some of this helps.
