Hello, I am Janet Shepard, janetsh@xyz.net. Homer, Alaska

I am looking for information about my greatgrandparents, Mary Francis and
Charles ROBERTS, who at the turn of the century, until I don't know what
date, lived at 512 Williams Street, Key West,Florida. Their children were
Julian, Philip Bernard, Olney, Cloudsley Lee Morningstar, Molly, Violet,
Vivian and my grandmother Evelyn Maude.

I understand that they had moved to Key West from the Bahamas. It is
possible that they were descendents of a loyalists to England during the
Revolutionary war. I heard that one of my mother's cousins was denied entry
to the D.A.R. because of this.

Charles may have been a cabinet maker and fisherman. Mary Francis may have
been an orphan.

Julian Roberts left Key West and moved to Sterling, Colorada where he had
a stationary store and had one daughter, who now lives in Tuscon, Arizona,
Francis Roberts Moss. She is in her mid 70s.

Philip Bernard Roberts registered for the 1917 draft. He may have been 15
at the time. He worked for the post office in Key West. He married Ruie,
but had no children.

Olney Roberts worked for the "Key West Truman White House". He visited my
mother in Washington, D.C. when I was very young. He wrote to my mother. He
never married and had no children.

Cloudsley Lee Morningstar married a Cuban lady named Rose and had two
sons, Warren and Andrew.

Molly married a man named Spires and had no living children.

Vivian married a man named Gobell and had 4 children that I have pictures
of, Ralph, Vivian, Mary Lou and Meda. They were handsome, dark cousins. I
always thought that they looked like movie stars. They were young adults
when I was a baby. So maybe they are a little younger than my mother. They
may be ages 79 to 74. Only Ralph would still be a Gobell. I think Ralph,
Vivian and Meda have died. Maybe Mary Lou or Babe Hollingsworth is still
living. She was visited in Miami by one of my cousins before 1985.When that
cousin went to Key West, she did not mention visiting any of the Roberts
there. She just went to see the 512 Williams house and a church nearby that
my grandmother went to.

My mother's cousin Vivian Gobell may have married a man named Sharfman and
had a deaf son and who knows how many other children.

My mother's cousin Mary Lou Gobell Hollingsworth may have had one son and
she did live in Miami just before 1985.

I know that her cousin Ralph Gobell served in world war II.

Violet married a man named Burt McGee. She had 3 children, one of whom may
be named Bernard McGee. He may have lived for years in Michigan.

My grandmother, Evelyn Maude, married a man named William Sandford Raine
in Nevada. She was the mother of my mother and 4 other sisters and one
brother. My mother just died in October, 1998. She has two living sisters
and one brother.

Since my mom has three living siblings, I am hoping that some of her first
cousins of the Florida family are living.

So I am looking for members of the following families: ROBERTS, GOBELL,
MCGEE, HOLLINGSWORTH.
