My Grandmother was Gloria Thomas nee Morgan born 1932 - living.

Her father was Herbert Richard Morgan (1903 - 1968)
he was Emlynds Brother.

Their father was Herbert Richard Morgan (1872 - 1948)

His father was Richard Morgan born 1840 in Cardiff, Wales.

I have a little extra info but not a great deal.

Actually, I'm replying to your latest message, ancestry won't let me reply to that one directly. Our earliest common ancestor is the 1736 William, and I am related through John Samuel, a brother of Edward. The earliest ancestor I have is Tom Samuel 1692, through the on-line Troed. parish records. How did you get the earlier Tom, from somewhere in the same parish records? I think we are running out of records. It is possible these people might be contained in lists of nonconformist radicals-Baptists, Anabaptists etc. which were created by the established church. The family definitely has some Anabaptist and maybe Quaker links. I don't think the family name will go further back than the beginning of the nonconformist revolution in Wales. Interesting a man named Robert Samuel was executed for heresy in 1550 in Thetford, he may have had continental links. DNA testing shows us having close relationship with men now named Beddoes, Stevens, Webb and Price within 200 to 500 years and Selfe and Cooper before that, in the Middle Ages. The only link with our cluster with the other DF 41 probably goes back two thousand years and the other guys are the forbears of the Stuart Kings who may have come from Brittany. i have Edward Samuel b 16.mar 1777 marrying Elizabeth Holl b.10 eb 1793, they had Edward 1816,John 1818 Elizabeth 1821,Ann 1826 Thomas 1834 and my side William b.18 Feb 1824 Graet Castle,is anyone from this line.
Before Edward 1777 can you tell me how far you have gone back with the Samuels.
I have William 1736, Thomas 1692,Thomas 1670.

there are two samuels in the parish register of glascwm .
jan 1 1705 thomas son of john samuel bap.
26 dec 1708 william son of john samuel bap.

also parish registar of Llansanffraid yn elfael.
june 10 1813 edward samuel of disserth married elizabeth holl. and in aberedw
lestyn bonville samuel the glyn aberedw d 9 sept 1988 age 80.

My relative Thomas M Jones was a farmer. I have been unable to find any historical society in Radnorshire to contact to request information. This has prevented me from finding anything about my Jones family there. Good luck in your research.

Which mill cottage do you mean, there is a milgatw at Tredegar which was also occupied by Samuels and originally a Davies property, but I'm thinking you mean one around builth.

catherine age 25 born Llangasty bre.
charles age 3 born disserth.
walter j age 1 born disserth rad.
also at that address were a large davies family.

Hi, I am also researching a Jones family kmown to be in Llandelgely 1800's to 1900's, I have an address of "Rectory, Llandegley, Randnor, I am looking for information on Elizabeth Mary Jones (Bessie) who's father was David Jones a shoemaker, her father had certainly passed away by 1915 and I think she had a sister, don't know any more, any help would be fantastic.

I am related to at least some of the Samuels around there, more certainly to the farmers in the area who live near the old Llanfihangel Brynapbuan church, now defunct. My particular family left there for Tredegar about one hundred and fifty years ago- then Aberdare and left for Canada in the twenties. Ancestry has a family tree whose most recent member is Frederick Thomas Samuel. Are you Rhian Samuel from Aberdare, the composer, if so my family knew your father but did not think they were related. I am still working on making connections with the Builth Samuels but had not done any research. Also, my Samuel Y dna can be found on DF 41, L-21, and Welsh surname projects.

I have been researching the Hope Family since early 2000, but have only recently discovered that my ggrandfather, Alfred was born in Hay, Breconshire, Wales to the John Hope famlly.
There are just too many names that coincide with later family names like Fannie, John Edwin, Hannah, and Edwin Meredith, not to be connected.
Alfred moved to Canada and married Mary Ellis, my ggrandmother. They had a daughter Fannie who was my grandmother.
I realzie that 13 years since your original post, but if you are still interested in comparing records, I will be happy to do so.

I am looking for information on the Welsh family of Thomas M Jones born in Llandegley, Radnorshire, Wales about 1790. He married Ellen Vale (born about 1789 in England) on 16 Jan 1816 according to the document Radnorshire, Wales Marriages, 1813-1835. They lived in Lugwardine, Herefordshire, England from 1822 to 1832. They departed for the States 23 Oct 1832 from Liverpool, England. I have an article about William Jones the first son stating they "were among a wealthy and substantial class of farmers".
His children William (born 1817) Thomas M. Jr (born 1820), Ellen (born 1821) and Sarah (born 1822) were all born in Llandegley, Radnorshire, Wales.

Looking at Llandarnfawr parish transcripts, Rice Price married Elizabeth Richards on 1 March 1757. Wtn were James Powell and John Morgan

Checking baptisms there's James, son of Rice Price, 1 March 1761, but I couldn't see anything further.

I have made a little progress bt getting a Welsh speaking researcher to look at what the English clerks were writing down. James he thinks is born in Bettwys. There are two of these but local research has drawn a blank. His wife is Elizabeth Weston see son William Weston Price. Marriage between James and Elizabeth as my tree. Mary their daughter born Llangunlo. Another daughter eliza marries a Thomas Price Is he a relation Don't know

Oh, dear! I'm about in the same boat ~ I think the parents may have moved after Stephen was born because there are marriage records and birth records for him, then nothing. I wonder if they moved to another location and had more kids, etc.

Family lore says Stephen was in London being educated for the ministry (Episcopal or Presbyterian?) financed by an uncle, when he ran away to America and fought with the patriots. His uncle called him a 'Rebel Dog'. He enlisted in Maryland and saved the life of Mad Anthony Wayne at the Battle of Stony Point. Received a metal that was seen by my grandfather. Don't know if any of this will ring any bells?!

Have you gotten any further back with your Price family since this 2009 post? I have Price relatives from Llandegley (Rice Price) and Llanbadarn (Elizabeth Rickards) who had a son Stephen Rickards Price b. 27 Mar 1757 d. 22 May 1832 in Ohio.

Elizabeth Rickards of Llanbadarn around 1757 and had a son

Stephen Rickards Price b. 27 Mar 1757 Llanbadarn d. 22 May 1832 (my ancestor). I know quite a bit about Stephen, (and will share) but would be interested in discovering if he had siblings, and any other info on his parents, etc.

I found information on the remaining 4 children; Ellen born 1821 and Sarah born 1822, both in Llandegley, Radnorshire, Wales; Ann Elizabeth born 1827 and Susan born 1828, both born in Lugwardine, Herefordshire, England.

I am looking for information on Thomas M Jones born 1790 in Llandegley, Radnorshire, Wales. A farmer apparently with a long family history in Llandegley, Radnorshire, Wales. He and his family immigrated to the US in 1841.
His family was:
Ellen Vale-Jones born about 1791 in Llandegley, Radnorshire, Wales. They were married in Llandegley, Radnorshire, Wales on Jan 16th about 1816 (day and month from a Banns record which had no year. This year calculated from birth of their first child William.

Children:
William Jones born in Llandegley, Radnorshire, Wales on May 4 1817.
Thomas M Jones Jr born in Llandegley, Radnorshire, Wales on 12 Feb 1820.
Plus 4 other children born in Llandegley, Radnorshire, Wales who are still unidentified but whose existence is documented.

If anyone has any information on this family I would appreciate hearing from them.

I would also like information on local organizations, authorities or parishes and their contact details so I can contact them for more information.

I am a ggson of James. My gf was Thomas Jefferson Moore and father was William Alford Moore. If I could get a possible birthplace in Wales for James I might make some progress as my wife & I currently reside in the north of Scotland and able to investigate places in person. I wonder about all the information now available as Angelina Durham (whatever her name is) appears to have been in her forties when Thomas J. was born in 1869 and His father James Alford is listed as dying in 1870. I visited GF and GM Moore (GM was a Reno/Reneau) at their home in Wister, OK around 1950 and visited their gravesite outside Wister in the early eighties after retiring from the Navy. I maintained loose contact with their two daughters until the late eighties when Aunt Autumn died. I would love to exchange info if you have any because I am a dead end. Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

I realise it is a very long time since you put this post on the net, but I am only just starting to research my Jenkins ancestors from Radnorshire. I am asking if you have a Stephen Jenkins in your ancestors who married a Mary Powell in 1830. They had about five children in the Kington area and then it looks like they moved back to Gladestry area.
Stephen was born in 1801 in Cefnllys Radnorshire.

Does anyone have any information on a Molly Hill who was married in Beguildy in March 1774 to a Samuel Powell.?
I have not been able to find a birth place or date for Molly (or Samuel) and wondered if anyone has any ancestors in the Hill family (or Powell family) in Beguildy in around 1750's. They moved over to near Kerry , where they died in 1780 and 1796.
