My husband remembers Sid Cavill very well. He was the one who gave a short back and sides and sheared away the ringlets when Allan was about three years old. There is a family connection with the Cavill's; Allan's ggrandmother was Ann Cavill. I have a bit of information about them before they came to Newport, but get lost around the turn on the 20th century. Have you been able to find out anymore since you posted your message?

Wife – Annie Cavill age 36, born Monmouth.
Daughter – Eveline Cavill age 3, born Monmouth.
Boarder – Percy Williams age 22, soldier.
