My father was James Edward Lasley, son of James Washington Lasley, son of Howard Franklin Lasley (from Virginia/North Carolina, dob ~1822). This is as far back as I can reach. My ancestors were coal miners in West Virginia and upper east Tennessee, but I don't know how they arrived in America. Howard Franklin had a brother named James who is buried in Campbell County, Tennessee. My dad believed our family to have Scottish/Irish ancestry.
