im looking for help in tracing my great grandfather william reynolds who was born in cardiff in abt 1878, when he died in the 1950s they could find no birth record for him. someone in the family at that time sugested the name carney but i believe that was a border that was living with them in the 1911 census. his dad was thomas reynolds, born manchester 1842,according to the census, he was living with them after william got married i have no other information and cannot find either of them before williams marriage, it doesnt help as these are common names of that time! im wondering if reynolds wasnt his birth name and maybe thomas was his stepdad, i have no proof on this i just cant think of another explanation,
