I'm searching for information on Elaine Jessica McGrath, second daughter of George McGrath of 58 James Street, Trethomas, Wales, married David G. Morton on June 15, 1944, widowed on December 27, 1944. She worked as an Army Territorial Services pay clerk at an unknown location. He was killed during WWII.
Family members remember that after visiting my family in Maryland after the death of my great-uncle, she went on to New York where she had grandparents. Unfortunately, I don't have their names. I would say Elaine was probably around 20 years old when she married.
I have a picture of her--she was very beautiful! I would like to know what happened to her. In an article I found on her and David's marriage online, it said she was hospitalized for awhile "upon hearing about the death of her husband who was killed during the Battle of the Bulge." Did she remain in the United States or return to Wales? Did she eventually remarry and have a family?
If anyone knows anything about her, I would love to hear about it.
Thank you.
Christina Morton-Scott
