If you search the marriage index for a Cahill / Adams marriage, you will find that a Patrick Cahill married either Henrietta Hughes or Charlotte Ann Adams in 1904 in Merthyr Tydfil.

If you then look in the 1911 Census for Patrick Cahill, you find that he is living in Merthyr with Charlotte and 2 children, plus a stepson. If you search the birth indexes you will find that they had around 13 children, and that Annie was a twin.

1. Winifred 1905 – died 1905
2. William 1906
3. John 1908 – died 1909
4. Fanny 1909
5. Patrick 1911
6. James 1913
7. Mary 1915 – I think that she must have died as the twin sister of Annie is also called Mary.
8. Esther 1917
9. Richard 1918
10. Margaret G 1920
11. Eileen 1921
12. Annie 1923
13. Mary 1923

Going back a generation:
1901 Census for Charlotte Adams: RG13 Piece 5034 Folio 11 Page 14
Based on GRO Birth Index her mother’s maiden name was Davies. So George Adams married Mary Davies.

1901 Census for Patrick Cahill: RG13 Piece 5030 Folio 104 Page 5. I suspect the woman immediately above him is his mother. i.e. Winifred Cahill, a widow. In the 1891 census she is shown as married and living with two daughters. I can’t see her in any earlier censuses. According to the various censuses Patrick was born in Merthyr, but checking the GRO birth Index, there is no birth registration, so I can’t find a mother’s maiden name. Looking at the marriage index in 1887, which on the face of it seems to be too late, a John Cahill, married either a Winifred Moghan, or a Margaret Prosser in Merthyr Tydfil.
