My ancestor Robert McWilliam (and siblings James 1802, John 1814, Susan 1816 and Elizabeth 1805) was born in Portnessock, Kirkmaiden parish, 4 December 1803 to John McWilliam and Jean Mean (Main). I've searched everywhere I can think of - including the Kirk Session Records - but cannot find any info on the parents. They seem to have arrived in Portnessock for the births and then simply disappeared. Jean Main was born in Kirkmaiden parish in 1784 to Nathaniel Main and Elizabeth Hannah. The mystery is John McWilliam......
