Where did you find the marriage record? I would like a copy! My husband and I went to Montreal last weekend and walked through St Patricks Cathedral, it was beautiful! There was no one there on the weekend to talk to about marriage records, but I did get a email address for the church.
I did have Rodrick as Daniel's father, but I was trying to trace it to fact. The marriage license would make it fact!
Do you have anymore information on Margaret McNutly?
Thanks so much

I have the June 1870 Census for Alpena County, Michigan. Roll 661, Page 458R has an Angus McDonald age 27 and Daniel McDonald age 21 as "workers in Saw Mill" they were both recorded as being from Canada. They appear to be brothers both were married.

On the same Census.. There is an Angus McDonald wife "Flora" she wored in the Board House, we worked in teh Saw Mill. They are both 23 from Canada.

Then there is Alexander McDonald age 40 from Scotland and Jane McDonald age 35 from Canada.

The Sexton Records of Holy Cross Cemetary in Alpena Michigan 1887-1992: have Andrew J. Born: 6 Feb 1866 Died: 20 Feb 1936 he is buried in block 1/2 lot 23/3. his wife Louise M. McDonald (however is has her maiden name as Hanley was born 9 july 1872 died 6 nov 1950 records her birthplace as: Algonac. same burial plot. Also in the same plots is:

Hendry D.(married Selma Yockey) born 17 Oct 1895 died 15 Oct 1978 birthplace is Alpena MI

Selma M (Wife of Henry)

Ok, so the bottom line is there are SO many McDonalds in Alpena I am not sure which direction to go here. If this peaks your interest and you want more, let me know. I also have the cemetary records for the protestant cemetaryis in Alpena. And the land ownership plot maps for the area for the same time frame.

Hi

My email is mc4kids@aol.com
Have you been able to trace Rodrick and Harriet to the US? Or did they stay in Canada?
Have you been able to go back any farther than Rodrick?
I have a list of names that were in a family bible, that I believe were Daniel's siblings. The only reason I can't prove it is, the bible didn't list Daniel in the list of births. However the bible was given to Mrs Daniel McDonald by brother in law Dugald McDonald. Followed by the list of births. Thanks JoBeth

Selma and Henry are my husband's grand partents! I can give you information on them.

I will take a look at the 1870 census today.

I have list in a bible that I'm trying to figure out how they fit the family tree. They look to be Daniel's siblings, but as right now it is a list of births and a few deaths of some McDonald's The bible was given to Mrs. Daniel McDonald by brother in law, Dugald McDonald. In the list they list more than one Cathrine (first one dying), more than one Donald (at least 2 possibly dying), Dugald, and a Mary A. It doesn't give an birth of death locations.

I'm sure this is family of my Grandparents, John McLeod & Alice Mae Irwin. My uncle was Norman Angus McLeod and my Mother, Beatrice McLeod/Pierce has MacDonald cousins in Canada.

My records show that Allan MacDonald was from North Uist not Lewis. On a visit to NU several years ago I was given a family tree for this line. If you contact me directly at blair@jbmaca.com I will send you what I have on this family Much the same info as you have). Please refer to [9290] when responding.)

Hi Leesa

I'm wondering if you are the Leesa Macdonald who is/was in contact with Eileen McKee (Australia); Eileen is a "Macdonald of Baleshare" relative of mine. Eileen told me that she had lost contact with you a couple of years ago so she was unable to connect us. I'd love to correspond.

My Solomon Johnston married Margaret McDonald of Hopewell, Nova Scotia in 1867. She was a daughter of Hector McDonald and she had a sister Belle, probably Isabelle who was single in 1891 and living with the above Margaret Johnston, widow, in Hopewell. Can anyone give me more information on this family? Who was Hector married to, when and where was he born, did he have a son James who moved to Ontario, and then to Oswegatchie/Morristown, New York?
Thanks for any help.
Solomon died between Octy 1889 and the 1891 census, I believe. If anyone can find his date of death or Margaret's date of death, it would be much appreciated.I don't know if Margaret remarried after 1891 or if Belle married after 1891.
