My interest lies in the Murray family of Gartymore, particularly the descendents of Anderson Murray born 1802.

During May this year my husband and I drove to Helmsdale and spent an onernight there having a look around and getting a feel for the area. It was a pilgrimage that we promised ourselves for some time.

There is a visitor centre in Helmsdale called Timespan (www.timespan.org.uk), unfortunately, it was closed over the weekend that we were there.
