My husband's grandmother was Mary Patterson Gauldie born at Red Castle Lunan. Her father was David Gauldie, second oldest son of William Gauldie, Miller, Lunan Mill. David Gauldie's mother was Mary Mitchell. Their gravestone is in Inverkeillor grave yard. William gauldie died about 1849. I am trying to trace who William Gauldie's parents were and where he came from. I know quite a lot about his children and where they were born. Their name was spelt Gaudie, Gaudy and latterly Gauldie. I have read about him in Enid Gauldie's book about Corn Millers.
