My second cousin ELI LOCKWOOD ELKINS was born 23 December 1909 in Selkirk Scotland. His parents were Jeremiah James ELKINS 1884 and Mary Maxwell Keith ELKINS 1879(ne RODGER).
The only other reference I have to this family is the death of father Jeremiah 27 January 1917 while serving with the Kings Own Scottiah Borderers.
Any further details would be much appreciated
Thank You

Just to confirm that he is mentioned on the war memorial at Selkirk and shown as Jerry Elkins. I have done all the MIs in Selkirk and there are no Elkins buried there with a headstone. Most KOSB deaths were given headstones so he couldbe buried elsewhere.Try writing to Dianne,Burial Dept, Scottish borders Council,Heatheryett.Galashiels.Scotland who may tell you if any Elkins are buried in Selkirk from the burial books. Hope that helps.I have checked the Commonwealth War Commsion website and found Jerry No 28598 KOSN died 28-1-1919 buried at Thiepval.Try the website and get a certificate.

Thanks for your kind reply
Yes I knew about the WW1 death and seen the certificate. I also have his soldiers will(From Scotlands People). It was this will that directed me to his Scottish marriage to Mary Rodger and the birth of Eli Lockwood Elkins late 1909 (Jerry was Jeremiah born in Surrey 1884). I am looking for crumbs from anyones table to help me as to the whereabouts of the family descendants.
Regards
Norman
