I was searching for information on LINTON and was shocked to also see LEES. Please respond and see if we can bet a connection. Our LINTONS were James and John. We are in MA in the US.

I am researching LEES in the Selkirkshire area also. A gentleman from Australia contacted me and forwarded me a long list of LEES from Galashiels which is down the road from Selkirk. E-mail me and I will forward it to you if you are interested. You never know

My father Tom Lees told me of a fellow that grew up in the same town, Alex Linton I think Alex would be in his 60s-70s now and apparently grew up in Selkirk

I am searching for info on my ggrandfather Andrew Lees born Dec 26th 1881. Left from (we believe Dundee Scotland) early 1900's. Settled in Ontario and later Quebec. Had a brother John settled in Toronto. Also had several sisters (Inez/Elizabeth) who also came across married a Fife. Settled in Michigan and Pennsylvania. Father was (we believe) David Lees and was a band leader in Scotland.

Andrew Lees married Mary Petrie Smith born Sept 18 1890. Came from Arbroath Scotland. Andrew and Mary had sons James, Adolphe Shoutte (Feb 1, 1914) born in Hoboken New Jersey, and Andrew all born in North America. When Mary was dying she returned to Scotland to be with her sister a Kennedy. ANY INFO GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I have lots of information on the Linton family from Selkirk. I am aware of a John Linton, now dead, and an Alex Linton, my grandfather, but he has been dead for about 35 years. I am not aware of any others of that name. We do have relatives in Canada, I think Toronto but I'm not sure. Would be interested in tracing any branches of the family

I think all the Lintons in Selkirk are related although this may go back several generations. I am trying to get information on all branches of the family and I know that there are some connections in Australia.My cousin Joan Simmons from Selkirk tells me that there is a connection between the Linton and the Lees family and she is going to find out more. Amy Gibb who is a Lees has some information and she will pass this on. When I have more info I will respond further.

I am now living in Oregon, USA.
