James Brown b abt 1827 married to Catherine Stewart Morrison April 1851 , Selkirk she was born 1826 , from Abercorn , Linlithgow . Catherine died 1/1/1883 Ettrickhaugh Cottages, Selkirk , James sometime later.
chilldren were
Jane b 1851 m to James Blaikie 1873
Margaret b 1853
John b 1855 m to Jessie
James Neil b 1859
Joseph b 1861
Is there anyone else researching this family , would appreciate any help.
Christian b 1863
Betsy Stuart b 1865
Alexander b 1870
1861 they were at Hetherlea , by 1881 they were at Ettrickhaugh

jane brown & James blaikie are my great grandparents their daughter christina being my grandmother, married william king in sep 1904. would much appreciate any help

So far the only information i have is Christina was born in Selkirk and Married William King 24th September 1904 in Selkirk

Catherine was buried in Brierylaw cemetery Selkirk.I have recently transcribed all of it and found the following:- In memory of Catherine S Morrison wife of James Brown who died Ettrickhaugh Cottages 3rd Jan 1883 aged 55yrs also the above James Brown who died at Glasgow 24th July 1910 aged 82yrs also Margaret Brown their daughter who died 25th April 1872 aged 18yrs also two of their children who died in infancy.
If there are other specific members deaths I can also look them up.MIs for Brierylaw have not yet been published.
do you have their parents??

OPRs for 1827 Selkirkshire shows only one birth for a James Brown 17th Nov 1827 at Galashiels to a John or James Brown and Margaret ROBERTS.Hope this helps

Hi Alan , I have the parents as John Brown and Margaret Roberts and Catherine's parents as James Morrison and Jane Stewart. I am still looking for the deaths of Jane Brown married to James Blackie and a John Brown married to Jessie?
There was also a Joseph Brown , James Neil Brown , Christian Brown and a Betsy Stuart Brown who was married to a Frank Welsh.
Would appreciate any info from the mi's if you can help.

Just read your message recently and noticed you were the grand daughter of Christina Blaikie who became King.
I am in fact the grand daughter of Thomas Blaikie who was Christina`s brother.
