I don't know if I have posted this before or not, but someone sent this information to me a few years ago after we found out our Moody Ydna was from a Norwegian ancestor.
This paper copy says that a John Jamieson MUDIE (spelled that way) but spelled as Joen Jacobssen Myddy apparently in Norway records, a weaver from Kirkwall, Orkney, a burgess (inhabitant it says) of Bergen (Hordaland), Norway in the year 1654.
I don't know if this John was any relation to your Robert or not, but I figure its quite possible given the early date.
