I am the great great great granddaughter of William McPherson who settled on a farm in Nairnshire in 1730. He and his wife are buried in the Churchyard of Auldearn, although my parents found the early stones had eroded so much they couldn't be identified.
His son, also William McPherson, married Julia Brodie, of whom I know nothing. They had 3 sons and 6 daughters, 2 of whom died young.
Their second son, James McPherson, was christened on November 19, 1780, in Auldearn Parish. He married Ann Rose in 1806 in Auldearn Parrish. Their children were: Alexander, born 17 May 1807 at Delness; William, born 14 October 1808 at Delness; and
James McPherson, born at Ballyskelly, parish of Ressaless, Rosshire, on 29 April 1811, and others.
James was my great grandfather. his parents left Scotland in 1819 and settled in Baie Des Chaleur in Canada. He lived the rest of his life in eastern Canada.
I would be interested to know if anyone related to this family has traced the Brodies or the Roses.
