Surnames: Cruickshank, Cruikshank, Gordon
Seeking information on James Merklin Cruikshank [b. 1753 Banff] who married Elizabeth Gordon [she b. 1779]. Family came from Parish of Cromdale, Spey-side. At one time, a family member worked for the Earl Seafield, near Grantown, and lived about one mile from the Down, near the Highland Railway that ran from Inverness to Edinburgh. Emigrated from No. Britain to Halifax, Nova Scotia [Musquodoboit] in 1803. Later moved to America...Hennepin County, Minnesota. I am tracing their daughter Nancy Cruickshank...and also her husband Andrew Cruikshank, son of John Cruikshank. I believe that Nancy and Andrew were second cousins. [John Cruikshank had a full brother, James, and half brothers who went to the Indies.]

ANY information or leads will be greatly appreciated.
