Lanarkshire County is the home of several "GLESPIN" place-name sites: a burn which is a tributary of Douglas Water, a burn which is a tributary of River Clyde, a village on Douglas Water, three farms near Douglas Water, a farm on the burn which is a tributary of River Clyde, a pool at the confluence of River Clyde and Glespin Burn, an estate in Crawfordjohn Parish, etc.

Timothy Pont's 1596 A.D. Manuscript Maps designate the estate and the burn arising near it as "GLESPE", designate the farm on the tributary to River Clyde as "GLESPON", and designate all of the other above mentioned sites as "GLESPEN".

We would be interested in all possible information regarding these sites prior to 1700 A.D.

Thank you for your help.
