I am looking for any information On John Coupland Black. I know he was born in 1850 in Castle Douglas, Scotland.

I have searched Scotlands people site but cannot find any record of his birth or any mention of him on the 1851 census. The first I can find for him is living in the Cockermouth Poor Law Union Workhouse in Cockermouth, Cumberland, England.

I know his mother was Margaret Black born in Urr, Scotland in 1814. I cannot find any information on Scotlandspeople about her birth. I know her father was James Black a weaver. The first information I can find about her in in the 1861 census and she was a servant living in Keswick, Cumberland, England. She married a John Rigg in Keswick Cumberland in 1863.

John Black's father was a Benjamin Black he was named on his marriage certificate and was a farmer. I have no orther information about him. I do not think Benjamin and Margaret were married as her status on her marriage certificate was spinster.

Any information would be grately appreciated.
