Thank you for responding to my request. I will add Mary and Alexander to my search list.
Since my original request I have found Janet and John Edwards in ,Banchory-Ternan. In the census it says that both John Jr and John Sr. were blacksmiths. I have also found the John Edwards and Janet Gove were married on 25 Jun 1827 in Nigg,Kincardine,Scotland
Additional there was a John Edward who was Baptised on Date: 10 May 1828 in Banchory-Ternan,Kincardine,Scotland Father: John Edward Mother: Janet Gove
On family search have also found this John Edwards who arrived in the US on Aug 29, 1853 in New York City, New York, United States Age 24 Birth Year 1829
Occupation Blacksmith Birthplace Scotch Ship Name Yorktown
The interesting thing about this is that John Edwards in the city directories and the census was listed as a blacksmith when he and his family lived in Chicago.
This also solves the boy meets girl problem as Margaret Chalmers his future wife arrived in New York on Sep 20 1853 about a month after John Edwards, so both were in about the same place about the same time.
What I have now is a series of several event that suggest a relationship between the John Edwards but with no documented connections.
