Thanks again. Your help is amazing.
Robina certainly is a mystery. There is no record of Robina being the daughter of Charles & Mary and no mention of a Rebecca on the Familysearch website. I'm guessing Rebecca on the 1851 document was a spelling error.
I have copies of the census from 1851 & 1861.
John may have left Scotland and headed for New Zealand, following brothers George & Robert Chapman. It appears that quite a few members of the Chapman clan emigrated (including Robina). John's occupation was listed on Robina's Death Certificate as a Book Binder so that may be a hint as well to her parentage as well. http://www.teara.govt.nz/en/biographies/2c16/chapman-george-...
I saw the other John Chapman on the Family search records and I was curious as well. They may well could have been related considering they came from the same area. ....... More research
I signed up at Scotland People site some time ago. But wasn't game to buy tokens as I was unsure of how it all worked (and our $ wasn't fairing to well) It will be much easier now if I can do some searching without paying. Then pay for the docs I need. I think the Death Certificates of Charles & Mary is a must.
Thank you so much for your help. I really do appreciate it!!!
