My 5th gr-grandfather, Corporal Thomas Fraser was born in 1755 in Boleskin, Strathherrick, Inverness-shire, Scotland. Thomas (in 1781) and his 2 brothers Donald and John (on February 12, 1767) joined the 42nd Highland Regiment,Black Watch, and served in the Rev. War. At the close of the War, they were given land on the Nashwaak River, in New Brunswick, Canada........then part of Nova Scotia. I am also trying to get more information on the Frasers from that area. I believe that your Alexander Fraser would be a brother or a 1st cousin to my Frasers. I think that if you start searching in the area of Boleskin, you will find many Frasers. The only trouble is they named so many of them the same! The name Hector seems to ring a bell with me and I am not sure why. But I think that I read of it in some book. I am relying on other researchers now, for information, because there just is not enough recorded information from that time period. But I hope that this helps you out a bit, and that you can find something more. Let me know how you make out.
