Hi,
The online records for Births, Marriages and Deaths is obtained at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk This is the official Register House for all births marriages and deaths in Scotland. It also holds Census records back to 1941 and Old Parish Records before 1855 when registration of these three life events became statutory and it was the churches who recorded these events.

It will cost you £6 for thirty hits but quite a bit can be achieved with this amount of money. You get access to the indices as well as to the scanned images of the actual certificates although sometimes they can be a bit difficult to read if you are not sure of areas, etc.

Hope this helps.
