Looking for any info. on Alexander Bartleman, Farm Steward married to Jane nee Brunton. Jane died a widow in Haddington 1873 aged 84. They had several children born in differing places due to migration across county looking for work. Daughter Margaret married William Sinclair, ploughman, 1844 and their daughter Margaret married John Smith, widower and coal miner from Borthwick, Midlothian in 1874. Have tried unsuccessfully researching in Edinburgh to find Alexander's death. Where did he come from, when and where did he marry Jane and where did he go? No luck with finding him on census returns either probably due to the nature of their living. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
